We believe coffee should nourish, not harm
Kaap Koffie's beans are collected in Colombia and the Dominican Republic and sailed across the Atlantic by Kaap Kargo, our emission-free shipping initiative. Once a year, our ship Ide Min carries coffee beans to Amsterdam, powered by wind, the cleanest transport in the world!
Cultivated by women
We work directly with Cooagronevada, a cooperative of female farmers in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Across 19 villages, 78 families cultivate organic-sourced coffee under fair-trade and women-care standards, ensuring fairness, gender equity, and respect for the land.
Sailed by wind
After loading our organic-sourced coffee beans onto our ship the Ide Min with Kaap Kargo, we set sail for Amsterdam. Powered by the wind, the currents, human effort, and the ancient tradewinds, we navigate using the stars and compass. Our coffee beans harnessing the traditional trade winds and currents instead of fossil fuels. Our journey is emission-free, sailed with love and care.
Along the way, we share space with salt spray, long horizons, and night skies filled with constellations that once guided explorers. By choosing wind over fuel, we reduce CO₂ emissions and honour the timeless connection between people, nature and sea.
